About the founder
After getting her PhD in cellular biology, founder Michelle Tu launched a skincare brand. However, she realized that her core values didn’t align with that of the cutthroat skincare industry and found herself turning to candle making in order to relieve stress. Michelle’s candle making started to gain more attention and demand, and she eventually decided to turn her hobby into a business—and that’s how Modern Theory came to be!
