Meet Ashland Stansbury, Founder and CEO of Because.  Because is a Shopify app revolutionizing bulk product updates for sales optimization. Ashland had a unique set of challenges on her team gifting journey, the biggest one being that her remote team works across the globe - not just the United States.  She knew she wanted to give thoughtful gifts to each of them, but she wasn't sure where to start or how to get it done.

Creating Connection

Ashland needed gifts for her employees in the Philippines, Pakistan, Canada, and the United States. Based on her budget, StoreyLine automatically curated gift options for team members in each country while handling all of the logistics of international shipping needs.

We sent personalized gift recommendations to each team member based on both what Ashland shared about them and what the team member has shared about their interests & preferences. This enabled us to create a radically customized experience for each gift recipient.

Ashland's pursuit of making sure every Because team member felt appreciated this holiday season also allowed her to support some amazing causes.  The gifts her employees chose had the following impact:

  • 80% of the money went to women-owned small businesses
  • 20% went to a business that works with Syrian artisans who are rebuilding their lives
  • 26.7% went to a black-owned business
  • 100% toward environmentally-conscious business - with 20% specifically made at a factory that is solar-powered and uses recyclable material
